    Description

    Here is very cool vintage trophy. Just picked it up at a Las Vegas estate sale. Measures just under 14 inches. Has a cast metal Ape in a racing outfit w. helmet and googles standing on top of an automobile radiator with a HERO DRIVER badge. The trophy was originally awarded by the WORLD CONGRESS OF RAFT RACES COLORADO RIVER DIV OCT 1967 "RAFT FINK AWARD". So I guess from what I could find in the 1960's-70 there was quite the movement of raft races across the country. This one shares that history as well as the Rat Fink phenomena. Great historical piece.  Made of wood, marble, and metal. Great midcentury look. Tag on bottom indicates it was made by Abbot Trophies of Las Vegas.  Thanks for looking.
