Elegant Greek Revival Door Casing Set, 48 1/2" W x 76 1/2" H, Virginia Estate

Description

This elegant interior door casing was salvaged from a house in Martinsville, Virginia, built in 1940 by architect William Roy Wallace. The casing is built to fit around a maximum 48 1/2"(W) x 76 1/2"(H) opening.
The Greek Revival style ornamentation includes an eye-catching, eared architrave situated below a header with delicate Grecian inspired urn appliques.
The casing is comprised of 4 pieces; 3 pieces of molded door casing (left, right, and upper), and a single header.
Condition: Very good. Minor damage at the bottom of the left and right pieces of casing and visible wear at the bottom of the urn appliques. Minor surface scuffs as expected with age and use.
History: This casing was salvaged from a house in Martinsville, Virginia, built in 1940 by architect William Roy Wallace. Unfortunately, this house fell victim to an electrical fire and was condemned. As a result, the Dawgs were enlisted by the owners to tackle this sentimental job. This property and items from it are featured on Season 10, Episode 9, of the Diy Network show, "Salvage Dawgs".
