Description
Antique SE-1000B 2 Step Radio Amplifier precedes 1920. Manufacturer unknown as Nameplate is missing. A collector friend suggested it could have been manufactured by Western Electric.edit..
I have been informed this was manufactured
by Nesco (National Electric Supply Company.)
Thank you Dan..
This small amplifier looks to be nostalgic early shipboard apparatus and is in very very good condition.
It measures 9 1/2" H x 7" W x 6" D.
It uses Century audio transformers, which I've never seen before.
All windings are open.
The rheostats are wire wound and use the early step switch construction like the IP 501.
Included is a display Moorehead vacuum tube that has an open filament and a broken tip that someone repaired with epoxy.
The panel is nice and was hard to photograph because of it's shine. The Nickel hardware is clean.
The mesh on the tube access trap door is punctured in several places.
Cabinet is nice, has checking in the finish.
There is a schematic label inside and this is the only reference to a Model SE 1000 B.
There is no nameplate as already mentioned and you can see the nail holes in top where it was once attached (see first external cabinet image.)
Bottom cabonet has a hole in center.
Please view all my photos as they best show it's condition.
This is an auction format and I will not be relisting at a lower price if it doesn't sell.
It is part of my personal collection.
Thanks for looking and good luck.
